hello!! i just finished my mock exams today so that is good. i got out 3 movies from the 90s - election, rushmore, and empire records - in celebration of the end of mocks and in preparation for my 90s themed party next week for my 18th (my actual birthday is on sunday). idk about you but this year has just run away??? it's practically halloween. i honestly don't know where it went and i can remember writing my turning 17 post like it was a few months ago. i don't feel like i've made that much growth this year, but i probably have, in subtle ways. last year feels distant and close at the same time.
i'm eating pringles and i'm glad that it's getting lighter. i only have 4 weeks left of high school??? time moves fast.
i have an insane amount of books and magazines on my desk to read. this is the opposite of a problem, i know. it's comforting having them there, even if time won't allow me past the front cover. i'm currently reading The Elegance of the Hedgehog and i cannot recommend it enough. every single sentence is agonisingly beautiful and profound.

i went to one of the young ambassador's houses last last weekend and as i was about to leave i spotted these really beautiful books and i had no time to look at them probably but
any recommendations on what to do before i turn 18? i've somewhat made peace with having not done certain things
omg how good is Rushmore? anytime I feel unmotivated or like lazy I watch Max Fischer and get a crush on Jason Schwartzman all over again <3
ReplyDeleteYour photos from France are beautiful, if you haven't been camping in a remote place with friends where you can see lots of stars, so I highly recommend you do that
i think the best thing to do when you're 18 is just breeze around feeling important because you're a legal adult hooray. i am still so so jealous of your beautiful french trip as well. fka twigs is mesmerising wow.

DeleteOoh, I loved Elegance of the Hedgehog! Believe it or not, it gets even better. Judging by the books in your stack I like your taste. Especially Salinger and Woolf. And Patti Smith, of course.
